How To: Reset Your News Feed

February 15, 2011 · 0 comments

Have you noticed that your Facebook news feed is is dominated by the same people and pages?  Facebook has an algoithm which choses what appears in your news feed, and one of those factors is frequency of interaction.  Facebook will put a higher priority on users and pages which you regularly interact with (makes sense right).  The downside to this is that updates become buried with the algorithm.

Resetting  your news feed only takes a couple of clicks, and you will start seeing a whole new world of information.  The following is how to reset your feed:

Scroll all the way to your bottom of your news feed (you may have to chase it for a little)

1. Click on Edit Options

2. On the “show posts from” drop down select: All of your friends and pages

3. Click Save

As soon as you do this you will see updates from pages and people you haven’t seen in a while.  Remember, if you want to switch it back to the the friends and pages you interact with most, just chose the other option in the drop down.
